Alone and Loitering (1st Edition) (1946)

The artist-author describes her book as "Pages from an artist's round the world travel diary (1938-1944)", and little further description is needed. From Portofino, Italy, she travelled to Jamaica, thence by a Japanese steamer to San Pedro, the port of Hollywood and then took a leap faith by travelling to Southeast Asia, Java and Bali where she wrote fascinating and vivid descriptions about people of the Far East. The title of this book is also listed as a part of a collection owned by John Bastin, a renowned Southeast Asia scholar and historian that has been donated to National Library of Singapore.
